Please be advised that as of 5PM, Monday 7 December 2009 the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) will implement new entry requirements for postgraduate Commerce programs (Master of Commerce and Master of Commerce (Advanced) for 2011 onwards. Due to the anticipated high level of demand from students with Chinese Bachelor Degrees, the new entry requirements are:
UQ Degree
Chinese Bachelor degree with average grade greater than or equal to (60% is a pass)
Master of Commerce
Master of Commerce (Advanced)
- 75% (for 211 Universities or partners)
- 85% (for non 211 Universities)
All applications received prior to 5PM, Monday 7 December 2009 will be assessed under the existing entry requirements. However, any applications received after this date will be subject to the new rules.
Additionally, students applying for either the Master of Commerce or Master of Commerce (Advanced) will now be required to submit an English test result (IELTS/TOEFL) with their application in order to be eligible for an offer to UQ. Conditional offers will not be issued on applications that do not have an English test result (IELTS/TOEFL) at the time of submission.
Please note that students who have applied for a place in the Master of Commerce or Master of Commerce (Advanced) in 2010 and request a deferral to 2011 before 5PM, Monday 7 December 2009 will be assessed under the old entry requirements. Any request to defer after the above date will be subject to the new admission requirements.
All existing offers for 2011 postgraduate Commerce programs (Master of Commerce and Master of Commerce (Advanced)) will be honored.
